Warning about Facebook "Group" Scam

Hey, be careful of some kind of Facebook "Group" that claims to be about fighting the proposed Facebook plan to start charging $5 a month in June. It's not true and the website that the "group" says to go to, to learn more about the proposed charges, is a malicious site that took over my friend's computer yesterday. Keep away from it. She didn't realize it was a scam because it said a couple of her "friends" had joined it. So she went to go check it out and it wreaked havoc. Here's a few links to more info:

2009 Twitter Trending Technology Topics

Google Wave, Snow Leopard, Tweetdeck, Windows 7, CES, Palm Pre, Google Latitude, #E3, #amazon fall, Macworld. Huh? Translations: Google Wave is a web-based service to merge email, IM, wikis and social networking; CES is the world's largest consumer technology tradeshow; Palm Pre is Palm's imitation iPhone, a new phone with lots of features and apps; Google latitude is a new Google app that enables you to see where your friends are located when you talk to them on your cell—but they need to have latitude installed in their cell also; #E3 stands is a video-gaming movement for "next-gen" gaming, also refers to E3 Expo in 2010. Everything else is self explanatory i think. Hope that helped! What were your fave topics in 2009?

Articles / Updates

Look for my articles in The Resident magazine's January and February issues! In January there are three: author profile of Abby Sher for her book, "Amen, Amen, Amen"; a profile of the Little Baby Face Foundation, a wonderful charity that helps children born with facial deformities; and a travel piece about Nevis and St. Kitts—two gorgeous vacation spot islands south of Puerto Rico. This issue comes out on January 5th, 2010.

The February issue will be out the 1st Tuesday in February. In that issue will be another article, this time the author profile is about Gretchen Rubin and her new book, "The Happiness Project."
